Susan Hahn

Susan Hahn (born 1941) is an American poet, playwright, and editor.[1]

Life[]

Hahn is the editor of TriQuaterly magazine and the author of 8 books of poetry. The Chicago Tribune named her 4th book, Holiday, and her 5th book, Mother in Summer, among the Best Books of 2002. Her 6th book, Self/Pity, was published in 2005 by Northwestern University Press.

Her 1st play, Golf, premiered in 2005, and The Scarlet Ibis, her 7th book of poetry, was performed as a verse play in 2007 and 2008. Her 8th book of poetry, The Note She Left was published in 2008.

Recognition[]

Hahn has won numerous awards for her poetry, including several Illinois Arts Council Literary Awards, and Illinois Arts Council Fellowship, The George Kent Prize from Poetry magazine, The Society of Midland Authors Award, two Pushcart Prizes, and a 2003 Guggenheim Fellowship.[2]
