Matthew Schreuder (born 1971) is an Australian poet.
Life[]
Born in Canada, Schreuder lives in Canberra, Australia. He works at Canberra Grammar School as an English teacher. His verse novel Muscle was published in 2006.
Writing[]
Muscle has been commended for offering originality and a very contemporary story of astute social observations. Its characters are drawn from a youth subculture of muscle car street racers, set against a future Sydney backdrop of social unrest similar to the 2005 Cronulla riots.
Recognition[]
In 2006 Muscle was short listed for the annual 'The Australian'/Vogel National Literary Award.[1]
