Jennifer Harrison (born 1955) is a contemporary Australian poet, psychiatrist, and photographer.
Life[]
Harrison was born in Liverpool, a suburb of Sydney. She studied medicine and then specialised in psychiatry.[1] She published her first volume of poetry, Michelangelo's Prisoners, in 1994.
Having lived in the United States and New Zealand, Harrison currently resides in Melbourne and is employed as a child psychiatrist.
Recognition[]
Harrison won the 1995 Anne Elder Award and was short-listed for the 2000 Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry.
Her photography has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria.
