Donna A. Allard (born 1956) is a Canadian poet and book editor.[1]
Life[]
Youth[]
Allard was born in Moncton, and raised in the fishing village of Richibucto, New Brunswick.
The earliest poem she wrote was named "Friends" in 1972. Her earliest poem performance was in 1988 at the National Milton Acorn Festival. She has performed with poets such as bill bissett, John B. Lee, Robert Priest, Nicole Brossard, Joseph Sherman, Fred Stenson, and Rita Joe.
From 2000 to 2011, Allard served on the board of directors of the Canadian Poetry Association as Atlantic representative, national coordinator, and president (2005-2011). She was an executive member of the National Milton Acorn Festival for 8 years. She is also the creator of "Sojourner Literary Hub", (previously the Facebooks Poets and Writers Registry).
She is a member of the Canadian Women in the Literary Arts (CWILA), Writers' Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB), Road Scribes of America, Royal City Literary Arts Society East Coast Liasion). Ms. Allard presently [2]
Allard lives year round at her beach house in Richibucto with her cat, Gale.[2]
